Premium Goose Fat

Goose fat is the choice of leading chefs for roasting potatoes and vegetables. It has been featured in many cookery shows and demos with various celebrity chefs including Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver. Notably, Goose Fat has a high burning (or smoke) point which means foods can be cooked at a high temperature without the fat burning or breaking down. It also has a low proportion of saturated fatty acids compared to other animal fats such as butter and lard.

Appearance
Goose fat has a cream to yellow color which may depend somewhat on the diet of the geese.

At hot temperatures, goose fat has a liquid consistency, but it is semi-solid at room temperature, and it has a thick and “creamy” look.

The room temperature consistency of goose fat looks something like slightly warm coconut oil, but with a more yellow shade of color.

In this state, goose fat is soft and spreadable like slightly warm butter.

Taste
Goose fat has a rich and flavorful taste, and when used as a cooking fat, it imparts a deep flavor to food.

However, the taste (and smell) is slightly milder and not as strong-tasting as pork fat
